The Board of Directors for the Center Star Volunteer Fire Department Govern and manage the affairs of the department both in financial and policymaking and enforcement of those policies.

The purpose of the Board is to represent the public’s interest in assuring the Fire Department serves effectively and to enable the fire department to effectively and successfully achieve its purpose, that of the protection of life and property.

The board is responsible for planning, funding, and community relations.

Their responsibilities include the following:

• Hiring the Executive Officer.
• Delegating the fire department’s management functions, including planning, organizing, staffing, directing, and controlling to the Executive Officer.
• Developing and approving strategic plans, including major commitments.
• Assuring the continuity of the fire department, making emergency decisions.
• Help the fire department achieve success.
